To Be Born (2019)
1- As human beings, we all have the same experience of coming to this life from a female body, but none of us remember that. We do need to ask someone else to remind us about the day we were born if there is anyone around to tell us the story. This is the only story that we all have common.
2- I remember when I was a kid, I used to ask my mom for a fried egg meal every night sometime around 2 A.M. It probably was my last task of each day or maybe the first for the next day. I still have the image of myself in mind, sitting in the hallway, somewhere near my parent’s bedroom, eating a fried egg with some Barbari bread. For those who don’t know, Barbari is the most common bread in Iran! My mom was so patient, and she never got mad at me because of those weird demands. Or at least I don’t remember.
In our life, there has always been a connection between mother, food, and fridge. A refrigerator is not only a place to store food and drink but also a place to stick things that we don’t want to forget. We hold any notes and images that are important for us — those images which we have to see every day, even if we do not pay too much attention to them. We just need them to be there.
3- “To Be Born” is trying to bring up our first story that none of us remember.
